My Spectacular Spider-Man Collection

  I'm very pleased to say that as of December 26, 2023, my quest to own the entire run of Spectacular Spider-Man has come to an end! Believe it or not, it only took me about two years to complete the collection once I decided that I wanted to get it. 

  I've collected Spider-Man since I was a kid, and Spectacular Spider-Man was always in the mix. I became a serious collector when I was in my twenties, and I collected all the way up until the Clone Saga began to dominate the storylines across all of the Spider-Man titles. I hated that story so much, that I actually quit collecting for about 10 years. Whenever I got back into it and began to organize my collection, I noticed that I had quite a lot of SSM issues. I didn't think much about it at the time, however after a few years, I investigated how many issues were in the series, and I got a little excited because I already had over half of the it. 

  Even though Spider-Man has been a hot collectible over the last ten years or so, most of the collectability has been on Amazing Spider-Man, and not Spectacular Spider-Man, which made the comics a little more affordable. Needless to say, this made my quest a little easier.

  For about half of 2023, I have only needed 5 issues - #221, #229, #243, #244 and Annual #14. Believe it or not, these proved to be a little difficult to find. Most comic shops and convention dealers don't even have Spectacular in their stock, and when they do, they don't usually have very issues. But, with some persistence, I finally found them all! I got Annual #14 on Dec. 26, and that was the very last issue that I needed. It's in really good condition, and I've posted a picture of it below.

  Now that I've finally completed the series run, I'm going to be adding another page to the website for the new Seeking Spidey search so that you can not only continue for follow me as I seek Amazing Spider-Man, but come along with me as I try for another complete Spider-Man series.
